Teaching Materials & Certification

  • Participant with a 100% attendance rate will receive a certificate for completing the Mental Health First Aid Course.

  • Participant will receive a set of Mental Health First Aid Manuals (Standard Edition).

What is Mental Health First Aid?

  •  Intervention in Mental Health First Aid.

  • The five key actions in Mental Health First Aid.

  • What is depression?

  • Causes of depression

Session 2

Emergency response for depression

  • How to assist individuals at risk of suicide.

  • Bipolar disorder.

  • What is anxiety disorder?

  • Causes of anxiety disorder.

Anxiety disorder and substance abuse

  • Emergency response for anxiety disorder.

  • How to assist individuals with anxiety disorder in dealing with panic attacks.

  • What is substance abuse?

  • Key interventions for individuals with substance abuse.

Session 4

What is severe mental illness?

  • Schizophrenia and psychotic disorders.

  • Treatment and key interventions for severe mental illness.

  • Reducing the occurrence of violent behavior.

  • Community resources for assisting individuals with mental illness or in recovery.

  • Quiz, summary, and review.
